Description
This corten steel part allows you to make angles.
What is Corten steel?
Corten steel is a modified steel to which phosphorus, copper, chromium and nickel are added. This composition allows it to rust on the surface but never at its core.
It can therefore remain outside for several dozens of years without ever deteriorating.
Its lifespan is approximately 5 times longer than that of conventional steel.
Corrosion process
Warning! : Your borders will not be delivered rusted. You simply need to leave them outside for them to start rusting on their own.
The corrosion process of Corten steel extends over 2 years:
– From 1 to 3 months: Your borders are covered with a layer of superficial yellow/orange corrosion.
– From 3 to 6 months: The corrosion layer becomes darker and harder.
– From 6 months to 1 year: The colour becomes uniform, the rust layer becomes very solid.
– From 1 to 2 years: Your borders patinate until they achieve their final colour: more or less dark brown (each Corten sheet is unique, and so is its colour).
Delivery
Your borders will be carefully packaged on a pallet, and once well protected, they will be entrusted to the Geodis carrier, who will deliver them to you by appointment.
