Description
T-junction 60x60mm – 7mm thickness
Allows you to attach our Corten steel panels together. The posts are drilled so you can bolt the panels to them (bolts are supplied).
We recommend sealing the posts in concrete blocks of L50xl50xP50cm.
To build a stepped fence you will need to re-drill the posts.
What is Corten steel?
Corten steel is a modified steel to which phosphorus, copper, chromium and nickel are added. This composition allows it to rust on the surface but never at its core. It can therefore remain outdoors for several decades without ever deteriorating.
It is not afraid of frost or heat.
Its lifespan is approximately 5 times greater than that of conventional steel.
Corrosion process
Warning! : Your posts will not be delivered to you rusted. You simply need to leave them outside for them to start rusting on their own.
The corrosion process of Corten steel extends over 2 years:
– From 1 to 3 months : Your posts are covered with a layer of superficial yellow/orange corrosion.
– From 3 to 6 months : The corrosion layer becomes darker and harder.
– From 6 months to 1 year : The colour becomes uniform, the rust layer becomes very solid. There are no more streaks.
– From 1 to 2 years : Your posts develop a patina until they reach their final colour: brown more or less dark (each Corten sheet is unique, and so is its colour).
Delivery
Your panels will be carefully packaged on a pallet and once well protected, they will be entrusted to the Geodis carrier, who will deliver them to you by appointment.
