Handmade in our workshop
At Nalunes, each Mikado foot is cut, adjusted and welded by hand in our workshop, near Angers. We have chosen demanding manufacturing: thick steel, careful welding and robust assembly, for a base designed to last.
A design that hides real workshop craftsmanship
The Mikado appears simple: tubes that intertwine. In reality, it is one of the most demanding feet to manufacture. Each tube is cut at the exact angle, positioned with precision and then welded so that the whole falls perfectly plumb.
This care, almost invisible once the foot is finished, makes all the difference: your table remains stable, rigid and can support up to 300 kg, regardless of the version chosen.
One block, ready to install
The Mikado is fully welded: you receive it in a single block, with no assembly required. No bolts to tighten, no instructions: all that is left for you to do is install your top.
It is compatible with round or square tops, in wood, stone or glass.

Which dimension should you choose?
Choose the dimension of your Mikado base according to the dimensions of your tabletop.

A finished dining table (base + tabletop) should measure between 75 and 77 cm.

Which steel section should you choose?
The steel section mainly influences the style and visual presence of the base frame. It has no impact on the weight supported by the base frame.

These are our recommendations for achieving a balanced result, but nothing stops you from choosing a 100 × 100 mm section with a tabletop of less than 160 cm in diameter: you will simply get a more solid finish than with an 80 × 80 mm tube.
Your top fixing
Wooden top
The Mikado foot is equipped with 4 fixing plates, each drilled with 4 holes of 7 mm.
The fixing screws are supplied: all you have to do is position your top and screw it onto the base.
Stone top
We recommend fixing the top directly to the foot using suitable silicone.
Another solution is to glue plywood under the top, then screw the foot onto it.
Glass top
The foot is specially adapted to your top: the upper plates are replaced by solid surfaces, without drilling.
You can then install non-slip pads and simply place your glass top on the base.
Protection of your floor
The Mikado foot is equipped with height-adjustable plastic pads adjustable in height. They allow you to easily adjust the levelling of your table, even on slightly uneven ground.
They also create protection between the base and your floor, to preserve your tiles or parquet and to make it easier to move the table without risk of scratches.
Finishes and colours
Raw steel
Without paint or varnish, steel retains its natural appearance, with shades ranging from dark grey to midnight blue. Marks, scratches or colour variations may be visible: they are an integral part of the authentic appearance of raw steel.
Raw steel varnished
This finish retains the natural appearance of raw steel whilst providing protection. A transparent matt varnish is applied in order to prevent the appearance of corrosion and preserve the appearance of the base over time.
Powder coating (paint)
The base is covered with powder paint in the colour of your choice, then placed in an oven to create a coating that is uniform, slightly textured and highly resistant. This finish offers excellent durability over time and makes the base easier to maintain.
RAL of your choice
Would you like a particular colour? Select this option and tell us the desired RAL reference when placing your order. Examples: RAL 7033, RAL 7021, RAL 2100…
Delivery
Your pedestal is carefully protected and packaged on a pallet to ensure transport under the best conditions.
Once ready, it is entrusted to our carrier, who will contact you to arrange a delivery appointment.
